Meet Caleb and Caitlin
Fall 2018 Awarded Family
As of January 2019, Caleb and Caitlin have been chosen by a brave expectant mother and are excitedly awaiting a baby boy in April! They are busy getting a nursery ready and making lists of baby names! Caleb and Caitlin live in Florida and have been married for 6 years. They enjoy life with their sweet dog Dax, spending time with their large extended family, having friends in their home for dinner and game nights, participating in their church, and working on their 1960s fixer upper. Adoption is something they have been excited about since their earliest days of dating because Caitlin’s little brother was adopted, and Caleb also has extended family members that were adopted. After a year of trying to get pregnant, they found out they were unable to have biological children and are so excited to be on the road to parenthood through adoption. They began their adoption journey in May of 2018 and it has already been filled with joy and loss. But they remain hopeful that God will soon fulfill their lifelong dream of being called Mom and Dad.
To accurately express just how much this grant means to our family feels impossible, but we are incredibly humbled and grateful in every way for this unbelievable gift. When we began the adoption journey earlier this year, we both felt so strongly that God had led us toward adoption but had no idea how he would provide the means to do it. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful family and community that has rallied behind us in every way, but the farther along we got and understood just how much the average adoption would cost, the more we wondered how God would make a way for us to start our family. On this adoption journey, and life in general, we have learned that sometimes God says yes and sometimes he says no, but he is always faithful, no matter what, even when we can’t see it or don’t believe it. We are so humbled that in the midst of our doubts and fears, God said yes this time, and now hopefully someday soon, we will be able to say yes to a brave expectant mama that chooses us to love her baby forever. Thank you so much Mighty Families by Adoption for making it possible for us to grow our little family. We are forever grateful." - Caleb and Caitlin
Christopher & Kelsey
Spring 2018 Awarded Family
Christopher and Kelsey live in Maryland. They have been together for the better part of ten years and married for five. In their free time, they enjoy hiking, trips to the family beach house, snuggling up with a good book and spending quality time with the ones they love. Adoption was placed in Chris and Kelsey's heart long before they knew the struggles they would face building their family. The plan had always been to expand their family through adoption but after several late-term pregnancy losses, they just knew they were being called to pursue adoption sooner. They began their adoption journey in the spring of 2015. Navigating the adoption road has been far from easy for them, with the heartache of two failed adoptions. They are hopeful that their wait will soon be over and are so excited for a little one join their family and for all the adventures that await them.
I am not sure that we could ever properly put into words what this grant means to us. The road to growing our family has been long, full of many dark days and lots of heartaches. Receiving this grant is such a bright spot in our journey. There have been so many points along the way that giving up would have been easier, but we have continued to trust the calling and that our baby is out there. As much as the grant will help in replacing funds that were lost and in the pursuit of cases that seemed out of reach, the feelings of peace that our needs have been met and the encouragement our hearts are filled with and the love we feel from every stranger that made this blessing possible far surpasses. I am not sure we will ever stop pinching ourselves that something this life changing happened to us. We are just so thankful for the doors this will help open on our journey and we can't wait to meet the little one receiving this grant has helped made possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us so much more than you will ever know." - Christopher & Kelsey
Brandon & Kellie
Fall 2017 Awarded Family
Brandon & Kellie live in Minnesota and have been married 4 ½ years. They enjoy spending their free time outdoors, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. God led them to adoption after trying to conceive on their own. They struggled not knowing what God had in store for their family when infertility treatments didn’t seem like the right path. A month before their first appointment with a fertility specialist God led them to adoption. Both have adoption in their families, including Brandon himself being adopted and knew God was calling them to grow their family through adoption instead. They canceled the appointment and started their adoption journey in January of 2017. They are trusting God without limits and looking forward to becoming parents through adoption. They can’t wait to bring home their little one, and show them one of God’s most incredible gifts – family.
"Although adoption was something we both wanted to do we thought it would be so far in the future because the cost of adoption. When we felt God telling us to adopt now we thought it was too far out of reach. We prayed so much about it because we couldn’t shake the feeling God’s plan for our family was adoption. So, from the moment we started the adoption journey and followed God’s calling, we decided to trust God without limits. The farther we got into the adoption process though we started to wonder how God would provide the funds. We weren’t getting very far with funds adding up and every situation we saw seemed too far out of our reach. This adoption grant – we can’t even put into words how much this means to us, how much the foundation means to us, or just how amazing that this grant was exactly what God has in mind from the beginning. It’s been 3 hours since we found out we got this grant and we have cried, rejoiced, and cried some more. I feel as though there really aren’t words to exactly explain just how thankful we are." - Brandon & Kellie
